Troubleshooting
Common issues and solutions when setting up and running the Supervaizer Controller.
Server Launch Issues
Studio-registered A2A requires workspace authorization
If startup reports Studio-registered Supervaizer v2 A2A requires workspace authorization, the Studio API key alone is not enough. In Studio, open Developer → Environment variables and copy SUPERVAIZER_WORKSPACE_AUTH_REQUIRED, SUPERVAIZER_WORKSPACE_AUTH_ISSUER, and SUPERVAIZER_WORKSPACE_AUTH_JWKS_URL into the agent server's environment. The issuer and JWKS endpoint are public verification settings, not API secrets. See the Quickstart.
If fetching the JWKS URL returns 404, use the Django API origin and the /w/<workspace-slug>/api/v1/workspace-agent-grants/jwks/ route. The production issuer is https://studio.supervaize.com; the production API origin is https://app.supervaize.com. The JWKS route and controller-event route share the workspace prefix but have separate endpoints.

Make sure you virtual environment is active.
Error sending event SERVER_REGISTER
ERROR | ❌ Error sending event SERVER_REGISTER : Client error '403 Forbidden' for url 'https://stage.supervaize.com/w/team_1/api/v1/ctrl-events/'
The workspace request header and /w/<slug>/ URL path come from SUPERVAIZE_WORKSPACE_ID. Confirm it is the exact slug of an active Studio workspace, and that the user who owns SUPERVAIZE_API_KEY belongs to that workspace and still has Developer access. Also confirm the workspace subscription is active and that SUPERVAIZE_API_URL matches the environment where the key was created. If Studio's response body says Subscription required, ask a workspace administrator to check the subscription. Never send the API key in a support message.
HTTP 400: invalid server.register details
If the response identifies details.agents[n].parameters_setup, that field must be a JSON array of parameter definitions. Omit it or send [] when the agent has no parameters; explicit null is invalid.
Example: Invalid server.register details: details.agents[0].parameters_setup: must be a list of parameter definitions; omit it or send [] when none exist.
HTTP 500 while sending SERVER_REGISTER
HTTP 500 means Studio failed while processing the registration. The controller log alone does not identify the server-side cause. Include the UTC timestamp, workspace slug, environment, and Studio response's X-Request-ID header in a support report. Do not share the authorization header, event payload, or API keys.
Studio returns X-Request-ID on production API responses and includes that ID in its logs. Supervaizer logs the remote HTTP status and request ID for HTTP errors. If the response header was not captured, provide the timestamp and workspace so support can search the corresponding Studio logs.
If an API key appeared in logs or a support message, rotate both the Studio workspace API key and the controller API key, update the agent's secret configuration, and redeploy. Remove or restrict access to copies of the exposed logs where possible.
Port already in use
Change the port: sv_server.launch(host="0.0.0.0", port=8010).
Environment Configuration
Missing Environment Variables
Ensure all required environment variables are set:
export SUPERVAIZE_API_KEY=your_api_key_here
export SUPERVAIZE_WORKSPACE_ID=your_workspace_id
export SUPERVAIZE_API_URL=https://app.supervaize.com
API Key Authentication Issues
- Verify your API key is active in the Supervaize dashboard
- Check that the workspace ID matches your account
- Ensure the API URL is correct for your environment (staging vs production)
Agent Configuration
Agent Not Discoverable
- Verify the agent ID in your controller matches the expected format
- Check that all required parameters are properly defined
- Ensure the agent methods are correctly implemented
Parameter Validation Errors
- Review the parameter definitions in your controller
- Check that required fields are properly marked
- Verify parameter types match expected values
Network and Connectivity
Connection Timeouts
- Check your network connectivity
- Verify firewall settings allow outbound HTTPS connections
- Ensure the Supervaize API endpoints are accessible from your network
SSL/TLS Issues
- Verify your system has up-to-date SSL certificates
- Check for proxy or corporate firewall interference
- Ensure your Python environment has the required SSL libraries
